Fighting for your joy and breaking bread with strangers

Ever since I was a kid, I wanted to feel like a character inside a storybook. I’d have fun by creating adventures for myself and doing surprises, pranks, story time, exploring the woods. I’d sit on the roof to see my entire neighborhood and feel both alive and scared up there!

At 36, I’m the same. I look for adventure every day. Magic right under your nose is what I LIVE for.

I’ve had some delightful experiences and I share three of them in today’s video: a secret room in Thailand, dinner with the owners of a Lebanese restaurant, and a shopping cart gift by a man from the grocery store.

It’s not “positive thinking.” One reason I believe I’m even alive is to experience high levels of joy, so I behave that way and prioritize it.

To a lot of people, that’s strange. “Real life’s not all unicorns & magic, Ishita!”

Trust me, I know. Been through my fair share of rough stuff.

But you know what? I beg to differ.

I completely, wholeheartedly, period, hands down disagree that life is NOT magic every day. You don’t have to drone on, complaining about how irritating and boring life is all the time. Just because most people walk around dissatisfied or unhappy, doesn’t mean you have to.

It doesn’t *have to* be this way.”

I’m not lucky or different. I just don’t believe your life needs to look like anyone else’s.

You can inject magic and enthusiasm into your life without it feeling weird or unusual. It can be something that regularly shows up for you. Every time I step out of the house I look for it, and I usually find it!

It makes me feel a HUGE sense of adventure, connects me to people I never would have, and makes me feel rich and full of possibility. I CHOOSE to live that way every day. Trust me, when you open yourself up to the world, life responds. I wouldn’t tell you unless I tried it. :)

Life is READY to give you what you want. Ready to delight you.

How open are you to receiving it?

Watch today’s video if you want more adventure in your life. Living like this will make you uncomfortable because you’ll take more risks, but it’s a small price to pay to see that although life can be hard, it can also be delightful.

Look for it!

And when you find it today or tomorrow, let me know. I’m curious to see what happens when you test it out: If this helped you see your life differently, send this to someone you love. Life feels easier when you work WITH it, not against it. If you know someone who needs to read this, share it with them. You never know what they’ll take to heart – they may go on an adventure today because of you!

xx Ishita
