In an effort to write the most perfect blog post, i often write nothing at all.
That leaves me thinking about it for the next few weeks constantly, knowing that I have things to say but not the right words to express them.
I think way too much about blogging, writing,(life in general, really) and sometimes I just need to bite the bullet. I’m at risk of TMI in these particular types of posts, but i’m giving myself the liberty to write things that suck. Perhaps bigtime. And for you to read them. And they may not all be about entrepreneurship or writing or the creative process or anything relevant to anyone but me.
But apart from “growing an audience” (which is not my goal) isn’t a blog meant for yourself anyway? To stimulate thought and express ideas, emotions, transitions, the grey stuff of life we feel but don’t talk about? I think so. So I can’t guarantee that all posts will be helpful, but i know for a fact they’ll be honest.
This is me taking simple action to get myself back in the habit of blogging, of writing, of getting over the fear that it’s all been said and there’s nothing more to add and blase blase blase. We’ve heard it all before from the millions of tortured people who claim they “write.”
Well now i do again.
Not sure if this was smart, but boy did it feel good.
couldn’t find a pic that matched my mood

Ishita. I know how you feel. I thought you might like this video about beating the “little haters”

Thanks for daring to share your thoughts so honestly. I realize your goal was expression, but with your words you inspire me to keep hoping, keep trying and keep moving.
Ishita, you gave us a gift. You wrote what we all think about: “Why bother writing what’s on my mind? It’s not as witty, creative, insightful, clever, spell-checked, aligned, etc. as the posts of the really good bloggers!” Hogwash. Write it down, share it with those who want to see it. Maybe change a perspective… or a life. Glad you didn’t fall asleep before writing!
P.S.- This resistance that you write about is exactly what’s been keeping me from posting a comment about Seth Godin’s Linchpin. Off to do that now…
I totally agree with you.
Blogging is all about expressing your own feelings and sharing your thoughts with the world. If it is not personal then it is probably not accurate or it will not be sincere. Sometime we lose our direction by focusing on people approval. We want to write the perfect blog while perfection is subjective. Other times, we fear making mistakes while mistakes is the only think that shape and reshape our thinking.
Personal blogs is resemble doodling but instead of drawing our thoughts we write it.

I googled it from the net.
Have a nice day
